Taking A Closer Look

My Plate is Empty. Is Yours Too?

I actually forgot to mention that I intend to start small album-slash-projects from now on, dealing with simple themes and concepts in this addiction of mine that, apparently is evident in almost everything that I do recently (this blog is a testament already).

The first was this.

Now, I decided to take a closer look at things and check on the little details in life. (Technically in geek mode, this is my effort to test out the supposed macro capability of my Siggy lens). For those of you who don’t know, this simply means that I can take a shot of my subject at a close distance, much like how you can use a magnifying lens to close in on a subject for a clearer view. You will have to hold the lens close to the subject this way. Usually other lenses won’t allow you to do this, but with my Siggy, it looks like that even if it’s not true macro, the shots were as crisp as I really wanted them to be. And that doesn’t include the blurred background yet. The bokeh (or blurred background) is really great. Nice and creamy just the way I want it.

And so without further ado, here are just some of the pictures I took. Stay tuned as I will be taking a lot more in the future…

And You Thought It was Open Ended

Do note that this is not true macro photography, because shots using a macro lens would be incredibly pin sharp, as if you’re using a microscope to zoom in on your subject, not to mention that the lens itself would even be more expensive than an entire camera set, and a D-SLR at that. Nevertheless, I’m very happy with the results, which goes to show that my Siggy is indeed a great buy.

More pictures as usual at my facebook album.
